Hello Everyone!

We're halfway through the campaign and I've spent the last three days stuffing boxes and shipping comics, which is to say, I'm exhausted! I have not, however, for a moment stopped fighting for this finale and spreading the word around.

Right now, we're hitting a bit of a wall. In a lot of ways, that's normal and expected, although it does seem to be steeper and sooner than ever before. That just means we have to keep grinding away and finding new ways to get people excited.

With that in mind, we'll be releasing three more add-ons for you to enjoy!

The first is a digital cover gallery for every issue of Frankenstein the Unconquered (a total of 14 covers and one poster).

The second is a print version of Flops's cover for issue 4:

And the third is a proper 11"x17" poster version of Luana Vecchio's variant cover for issue 5!

You can pick up any or all of these add-ons by managing your pledge right now!

We're halfway through a brutal marathon and we've got to keep fighting until the end. See you at the finish line!

unSEEN/unHEARD: Disability & Neurodivergence Comic Anthology

"From the editors that brought you Scott Snyder Presents Tales from the Cloakroom vol. 1 and the Ringo-nominated creator of Etheres comes unSEEN/unHEARD: Disability & Neurodivergence, a 64-page anthology that collects 12 new slice of life, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror short comics about dealing with disabilities or being neurodivergent.

"It was vital to us that stories about neurodivergent people and those with disabilities be told by people with those conditions. Similarly, creators with these conditions often find it difficult to make comics consistently, from financial barriers to constant interruptions to the creative process because their energy must go to simply...existing. As such, we wanted to produce this anthology to give those who might not usually get to tell their stories a platform to do so."

This is such an interesting and exciting anthology with a massive pool of talent including some peers that I'm close with. It speaks up for people who need their voices heard and does so by lifting up people within that community and that's truly awesome! I really can't wait to see this book succeed and I would encourage you to check it out here!

Space Pop Cats #2

"A skilled pilot's voyage to Mars takes a fateful turn after a crash landing leads to the discovery of an ancient crystal.

"This mysterious artifact unleashes vivid visions, revealing an ancestral legacy that binds her to the Space Pop Cats—colossal feline guardians of the universe’s creation crystals. Rescued and thrust into a whirlwind of unfolding events with new allies, she must confront her inner demons, face an ancient wrath, and prevent an impending apocalypse to save her world and the cosmos."

I love finding small projects on this platform that should be the talk of the town. This comic is gorgeous, fun, energetic, and SOMEHOW has fewer than 50 backers. We have to do better as a community, frankly, or we'll stop getting these wonderful breaths of fresh air! I'm super excited for this comic after coming across it and I'd ask each and every one of you to check it out here!

That's all for today, talk soon!

50% in the first week!
about 2 months ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2024 at 08:42:56 AM

Hello Everyone,

We're a little past one week into the campaign and are going strong! With nearly 50% funding and fast approaching 200 backers, we're confident we'll be able to reach our goal and get Ellie started on drawing the issue ASAP!

I got to meet a ton of people at St. Louis Mighty Con (shout out to you if you pledged after hearing about it there) and if there's one thing I'm confident about, it's that this comic is fresh and exciting for a lot of people and will only continue to grow the more we share it with the comics community.

We'll be back with more news later in the week, but for right now, I want to say thank you all so much, let's have a great campaign!

HALLOWED #1

"A desperate band of deserters find themselves lost in a mysterious forest, hunted not only by their sins and the religious zealots pursuing them…but the very woods themselves."

Hallowed is a project I was really surprised to see on a number of levels--the art style and direction is gorgeous, the premise is fascinating, and the whole book glows with a level of professionalism I often see missing in even really competent creators! I was also pleased to see that Kyle Stuck is a fellow Arkansan (Woo pig!) and that the project has more than met it's goal already, but the biggest surprise is that this incredible looking comic only has 55 backers at time of writing! This should be a runaway success both in funding and in backer support and I'd encourage you to go over to their campaign page and check it out for yourself!

RIPPED TO SHREDS

"RIPPED TO SHREDS is an oversized, full-color graphic novel that faithfully adapts Michael Johnson's infamous “Lost Slasher” screenplay from 1980. Painstakingly period-accurate, with a studied reverence for the era and a "cast" featuring legacy horror actors Russell Todd and Lauren-Marie Taylor from Friday the 13th Part 2, RIPPED TO SHREDS strives to recreate the experience of watching a classic 80s slasher film... in comic book form."

It may not surprise you that I have a lot of love for pulpy movies from the 70s and 80s, and squarely included in that category is the slasher! Ripped to Shreds should have been one of those classic films, but was put in production hell and shelved indefinitely. The fact that this kind of passion project can resurface 40 years later is exactly what I love about the Kickstarter comics community. It looks like a wildly nostalgic ton of fun and I really hope you check it out here!

That's all for this update, talk soon!

Thanks for the Killer Start!

Hello FrankenFans,

Thank you guys so much for being the first to back Frankenstein the Unconquered #5! We've sailed past our day one goal and are hoping for a strong rest of the week. Let's see if we can get to 50% before next Monday!

A huge thank you to returning fans, making this comic has been a journey and it feels amazing that we get to finish it with a bang. It's going to be a long 30 days, but I believe we'll make it with every fiber of my being.

In the meantime, please share this campaign with your friends and anyone out there you know has a soft spot for comics, monsters, or pulpy 80s action! We launched 8 minutes before the biggest comics campaign of the year and we'll need all the attention we can get to make sure we don't get drowned out.

Looking forward to a great campaign!

Vampires on Mars #2

"Billionaire Gary Laurie has a dream—to be the first person to safely send people to Mars. The problem is it can't be done, and he's losing billions in the process.

"Desperate to save his dream, he turns the mission over to Hanna Von Fleischer, a brilliant, gorgeous, and mysterious woman who promises to get the crew to Mars and back.

"Oh, and she also happens to be a 300-year-old vampire. So, how much of your humanity would you give up to achieve your dreams?"

Fernando Pinto is one of my favorite artists alive and the man simply does not get enough credit! This hilarious, dynamic, energetic horror comedy is everything it says on the box and more. Seriously one of my favorite series going right now and it only has 3 days left on Kickstarter! Check it out here before it's gone!

My Neighbor Necromancer #2

"My Neighbor Necromancer is a dark YA fantasy about a girl named Jessie who stumbles into the wild world of necromancy and learns how the denial and mistreatment of Death can do more harm than good.

"Both the living and the dead deserve love, even if they are not what we expect them to be."

I first became aware of this campaign in the bathroom at Baltimore Comic Con (there was a flyer on the hand dryer) and the more I learned about it, the more intrigued I became. A necro-romantic YA fantasy featuring a great team and some really interesting stylized art? What more could I ask for. Only 2 days left on this campaign so jump in and check it out quick!
